Passage to Angkor by Kenro Izu (LE with Print)

Passage to Angkor by Kenro Izu (LE with Print)
SKU: LE-IPA

“PASSAGE TO ANGKOR”

Photography by Kenro Izu

Produced by Channel Photographics, New York, New York, 2004

First Edition

LIMITED EDITION with PLATINUM PRINT

Like “Sacred Places” by Kenro Izu, Passage to Angkor is nothing short of a spectacular photographic effort that will prove to be timeless. Angkor Wat is a place, which to Kenro Izu, is a spiritual grounding of his magnificent perception of beauty.

Limited to only FIFTY (50) copies, this EXTREMELY RARE Limited Edition is accompanied with a Platinum Print of the photograph on the cover of the book 'Angkor Wat, 1994, Angkor No. 79' (image size 8 1/4 x 11 7/8 inches on 11 x 14 3/8 inch hand-made paper, numbered on verso and signed and dated '2004' in pencil on recto in the right side margin by Izu), along with a SIGNED & NUMBERED book. The book and print are presented in a high quality custom made clamshell portfolio box, covered in fine green cloth with the title stamped in golden lettering on the spine.

From the publisher: Of all the sacred sites that Kenro Izu has photographed since 1979, Angkor Wat is undoubtedly his spiritual and psychological base camp. While he has so often succeeded in representing the sacred and ancient landscape, Angkor Wat is the creative web that weaves itself through all of his work. Angkor Wat is the touchstone – it supports Izu’s output and indeed holds it together like the geometrical matrix of the spider’s web.

For these reasons, Passage To Angkor artfully reexamines this most important aspect of Izu’s stunning career spanning the last quarter century, presenting Izu’s most accomplished Angkor Wat photographs in a rarefied book form that is remarkable for its physical beauty.

Passage to Angkor will undoubtedly rank among the most important publications of these timeless and limitless photographs that depict one of the world’s most mystical places. This title is accompanied by poems by Helen Ibbitson Jessup that were imspired by Izu’s photographs. The First Edition was limited to 2,000 copies.

The book in the Limited Edition (hardcover) is presented in a fine brown linen cloth, with the title stamped in gold lettering on the cover and spine of the book. There are 116 pages, with 71 tritone plates, which have been carefully printed for this title.

This is a SPECTACULAR production.
